Frequently Asked Questions:

What are the church services like?

We like to keep a nice balance of contemporary and traditional.  Both the 8:15

and 10:30 services are the same.  One of Sugar Groves favorite traditions is our

praise and prayer time.  We always take time before prayer for people to publicly

share any prayer requests or praises that are on their heart.

How do people dress?

This is not something that we get all that hung up about.  Blue jeans are common,

though you may find a few wearing ties.  Pastor Tim rarely preaches wearing a

tie.  During the summer, many people come wearing shorts.  Just come as you

are…..we just want you to come.

What is the music like?

As with the entire worship hour, we mix a little traditional with contemporary.

We sing a few hymn and choruses each week.  Music is lead by our worship

team.  Instruments include a piano, keyboard, drums and guitar.  For the

hymns, hymnals are available in the pews, or the words are projected on a

              screen.

Does your church have membership?
Many of our regular attenders are not members.  You can be very active without

being a member.  Only a few leadership positions are restricted to members.

Pastor Tim holds a membership class periodically.

Baptism
We believe in the ordinance of baptism as a celebration of our new life in Christ. Throughout
the year, Sugar Grove does baptisms by immersion in the baptismal. Classes are offered prior
to these services for those being baptized.
